Stab Japanese Binding is a method of exposed stitching useful for binding single sheets of paper where the thread creates a pattern. The front and back covers can either be soft or hard back (covered board) and are attached to the text block with decorative stitching along the spine. There is also the option to hide the stitching on the outside of the book; achieved by turning in the edge of the cover boards for the spine to create a hinge.
